Directorate of Labor Relations
Through the Directorate of Labor Relations, the Ministry of Labor administers the collective labour disputes and sponsors the negotiations between the employers and workers’ unions. The Labor Law lays down the stages of collective labour dispute resolution as follows:
- Conciliation representative phase - 21 days
- Minister intervention phase
- Conciliation board phase - 21 days
- Labor Court phase - 30 days
In 2021, the Ministry of Labor addressed 45 collective labor disputes which resulted in 44 collection employment contracts (agreements), covering 115231 workers, at a cost of JD26,985,600, which all contributed to improving the labor circumstances and conditions.
