Minister of Labor / VTC Board Chairman NayefIsteitiehand Al Albayt University President Professor Hani Aldmour sign today Sunday at the office of the University President a cooperation MOU in the field of the vocational training to implement a joint training program that meets requirements of the labor market to enable VTC establishes workshops at the university’s campus for hydroponics, hospitality and logistics fields.

 

Isteitieh said that cooperation between VTC and Al Albayt University is response to the directions of HM King Abdallah II and HRH Crown Prince Al-Hussein Bin Abdallah to modernize and improve vocational training system through openness to the educational institutions of all levels and benefit from available expertise for the purpose of development of vocational education sector in Jordan.

 

The Minister stressed that VTC is keen to enhance partnership with all VTC-related institutions to provide training and employment to male and female youth, and contribute to the government efforts that seek to avail job opportunities to the youth. He noted that VTC has 36 institutes and 348 training workshops distributed across the Kingdom. They qualify competent and trained labor force and provide wide range of vocational training programs for all targeted groups and production and service institutions in public and private sectors in close cooperation with universities and civil society organizations and entities.

 

Isteitieh added that VTC, in its future plans, aims to move to training of modern technology applications, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of the Things, robotic sciences and programming, and data management in cooperation with National universities and scientific institutes.

 

From his side, Al Albayt University President Professor Hani Al-Dmour stressed the importance of signing the MOU with VTC as it will help students acquire practical experiences and skills needed to enter labor market. Furthermore, training outcome shall play important role in meeting requirements of the jobs they seek to fill.

 

Al-Dmour added that students and local community members’ acquisition of qualification and training shall give them competitive advantages and preferences at the labor market.

 

From his side, VTC Director General Engineer Ahmad Mifleh Alghraibeh stated that with this MOU, VTC shall supply equipment and devices to equip the workshops, design and accredit new training programs, use available training programs, supervise implementation of training process, participate in theory and practical examinations, and grant certificates with VTC and University logo to graduates. In addition, VTC shall avail the opportunity to University candidates to participate in training courses, seminars and conferences conducted. He noted that VTC had signed several MOUs with technical and vocational training sector-related entities.
